A Local Exchange Trading Scheme - LETS - is a grass-roots community network for developing friendship and mutual support, through sharing goods and services.

LETS groups use a Community Currency, which is valid only within the group, and operates by Mutual Credit, which means being available to all members without having to be borrowed from a bank.

LETSlinkUK.net has much background information about how LETS works, and links to all known local groups in the UK. Local Exchange.org.uk links to groups using the Local Exchange software and is used for demo/training purposes
